Before you begin:

• You must be online to complete the setup.

  You can either use your mobile data plan or set it up in advance on another trusted network, such as at home.

• Have your eduroam login credentials ready.

  If you haven’t set up your eduroam password yet or don’t remember it, log in to https://ldapuser.cuni.cz/language/switch?lang=en and, in the menu on the left under Other Accounts / Set Password for eduroam realm cuni.cz, set a new password or check which one is currently set. Your CAS password does not work here. More information

Easy setup with geteduroam:

1. Install the geteduroam app on your phone:

or scan the QR code with your phone:

2. On the page that opens, verify that the correct app is selected and tap Get:

3. Confirm the installation by tapping Install:

4. You can now launch the app by tapping Open:

5. In the list of institutions, find and select either Charles University or Univerzita Karlova:

6. If you see eduroam in your phone’s network list, use eduroam. If you usually see eduroam-cuni in your network list, select that profile. eduroam is the most common name. Then tap Connect:

7. Enter your eduroam login credentials and tap Log In:

Tip: If you’re not sure what these credentials are, you can find out more here. The username is in the format your_cuni_number@cuni.cz (e.g., 12345678@cuni.cz)

8. Tap Allow to add the eduroam profile to your device:

9. If you’re within range of an eduroam network, you can connect right away by tapping Connect:

10. You don’t need to save the password in the Passwords app, so you can select Not Now.

11. If you’re within range of an eduroam network and have entered the correct credentials, you should see a connection confirmation:

Manual Setup

Note: You must perform this setup while within range of the eduroam network

1. In the Settings app, tap Wi-Fi. In the Networks list, tap the eduroam network.

2. Fill in your username in the format personal_number@cuni.cz and password and click the confirmation button . The password is not the password for CAS, but for eduroam, more here.

3. Check the certificate used to see if it is issued by eduroam CA 2 and check cryptographic fingerprint of a certificate with fingerprint here.

   
   

   Important: The eduroam network is known and can be spoofed, so it is important to verify the certificate issuer..

   
   

   If everything is OK, click the Trust button.

4. If all the details are correct, you should now be connected.
