Students and employees with an account in the CAS of the Charles University can, free of charge, acquire personal certificates from the TCS certification authority, which is accepted by most browsers without any further configuration. In order to acquire a certificate, users must meet the following conditions:

• Have a verified password in the CAS of the Charles University.

• Have a verified e-mail address in the CAS of the Charles University (verification must be at most 6   months old). This address is saved in the certificate.

Personal certificates can be used to log into certain services, to sign and encrypt e-mails, and to reset a password in the CAS without first entering the old password.
