Two-factor authentication via text message code provides simple and reliable means of increasing security for your CAS user account.
It is designed to be easily usable amongst all users without the need of mobile application installations.
This way your account remains secure against unauthorized access even if your password is compromised.
Text messages code is one of the two-factor authentication methods. We highly recommend to use this method as secondary to the CU Key mobile application.
This method of two-factor authentication uses mobile phone number from WhoIs system if you are an employee.
If you do not have any mobile phone number on the website www.ldap.cuni.cz/mfa or you wish to change the one uploaded automatically, please follow the procedure below.
Activation process
Visit website www.ldap.cuni.cz/mfa and login to CAS.
Select SMS message among the available options:
Type in the mobile phone number which you wish to use and click on Verify phone number
You will receive text message code which you need to fill in to the box next to your phone number and click on Submit.
In case it does not allow you to continue, please repeat this step.
Once your phone number is successfully verified you will see a confirmation table.
Now, please go to website which requires CAS login and two-factor authentication, e.g. www.servicedesk.cuni.cz and log in.
Click on Other verification methods and select Verification via SMS message.
Fill in the text message code which you have received to the table.
This service is primarily intended for students and employees situated within European Union. Text message code delivery cannot be guaranteed outside of the EU.
